Why Swap?

Constantly buying new clothes has a big, bad environmental impact.

Clothing manufacturing is a big contributor to pollution and uses a lot of precious resources - especially water.

We make and buy way more clothing than we use.

A lot of it is donated and resold.
The US is the largest exporter of used clothing in the world - and a lot of it ends up as trash!

Clothing Swaps keep clothing local and support reuse.

Here’s what we do:

For the leftovers, we look for:

  • Groups that distribute clothing locally - like Note in the Pocket (noteinthepocket.org) and Dress for Success (dfstrianglenc.org)

  • Thrift Stores that directly support local organizations - like Dorcas (in Cary) and Pennies for Change (in Durham)

We are also happy to exchange items for help packing up or sorting!
**If you are a reseller interested in picking up items in exchange for help packing up, contact us or find the Circular Triangle volunteer leading the swap.
