Plastic pollution is a worldwide challenge, but the solutions are being crafted at every level - from global treaty negotiations to local ordinances.

Anne-Elisabeth Baker is a North Carolina Sea Grant Environmental Policy Fellow at the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. Anne-Elisabeth works at the intersection of policy, sustainability, and community engagement - helping coordinate statewide efforts to reduce single-use plastics at some of North Carolina’s most treasured public sites, including our state parks, museums, and aquariums. She holds a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University, where she focused on environmental economics and policy, and a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from the University of Houston. Her work is driven by a deep commitment to environmental justice, circular systems, and building a more equitable and trash-free future.
